This video will demonstrate the proper short-term and long-term storage and transportation techniques for the Pressure Washer 3700 (product number 2830573). View the use and care manual for this pressure washer by searching the Polaris Accessory Installation Instruction Site.
Short-Term Storage
1. For procedures to store your pressure washer for two months or less, start by filling the fuel tank and adding a fuel stabilizer per the manufacturer’s recommendations. Note: Using a fuel stabilizer when storing gasoline may help prevent problems related to alcohol blended fuels in outdoor power equipment engines. Always follow the instructions provided by the fuel stabilizer manufacturer to mix and use correctly.
2. Complete the steps in the operating checklist, read Pressure Washer 3700 Pre-Operation Inspection for more information, and start the engine and run it for 10 minutes to allow the stabilized fuel to circulate through the entire fuel system. Note: Be sure to squeeze the trigger to keep water flowing through the pump and spray gun to avoid overheating.
3. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
4. Squeeze the spray gun trigger to relieve the pressure in the hose and pump, and drain the high-pressure hose.
5. Allow the engine to cool completely.
6. Store your pressure washer in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight.
7. Using Simpson® Pump Guard or an equivalent is recommended when storing the unit for more than 30 days and/or when freezing temperatures are expected.
Long-Term Storage
1. For procedures to store your pressure washer for two months or more, start by making sure the engine is completely cool.
2. Remove all the fuel from the fuel tank, fuel lines and carburetor by loosening the drain screw at the bottom of the carburetor and draining the fuel into an appropriate container.
3. Remove any dirt and debris from the area around the spark plug, then use a spark plug socket or wrench to remove the spark plug.
4. Pour .5 ounces of new oil into the engine combustion chamber, then slowly crank the engine by pulling the recoil two (2) times to distribute oil and lubricate the cylinder.
5. Reinstall the spark plug.
6. Drain the high-pressure hose.
7. Store your pressure washer in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight.

Transporting
1. To transport your pressure washer, follow these steps:
2. Turn the engine control switch to the OFF position.
3. To prevent fuel spillage when transporting, keep the pressure washer upright on a level surface.
4. Secure the pressure washer with straps or tie downs to prevent any tipping over and damage from sliding. Note: Do not operate the pressure washer while it is on the transport vehicle.
